Wednesday, July 16, 2008: Almost 180 homes have been added to the new website www.affordablehome.ie since its launch including 40 new homes in a development in Santry, Dublin, the Affordable Homes Partnership has announced. The website has also had over 23,500 visits since it first went live on June 24.
Speaking today, Chief Executive of the Affordable Homes Partnership, Mr John O’Connor said: “The new website is continuing to see a large amount of traffic. We’ve had a significant number of visits since its launch. Also, the level of interest in the development in Santry is once again showing us that there is still strong demand for good value affordable housing, credit crunch or not. Of 40 homes in the development, there are just eight still available. And with almost 180 new homes added since the launch, the local authorities are clearly seeing the value of advertising homes on the website. This follows on from two developments in Leixlip and Celbridge that were sold out.”
The Affordable Homes Partnership stated that there are now 341 homes advertised on the website, which is an increase of 180 since the launch.
The new website www.affordablehome.ie was launched recently by Mr. Michael Finneran, T.D., Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal and Developing Areas. It is the first online initiative for affordable home ownership with information on the availability of affordable homes nationwide. It was created in collaboration between the Affordable Homes Partnership and all local authorities.
