Affordable Homes in Westmeath

Affordable homes are provided by Westmeath County Council to help people who want to buy a home in Westmeath County Council and Athlone Town Council Area  but cannot afford to buy on the open market.   If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to the Council.

To Qualify for an Affordable Home

You should:

• be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply)
• be in full time employment for at least 9 months or self employed for at least 2 years
• earn no more than €40,000 for 1999 scheme as a single applicant or up to €100,000 combined income if you are applying with someone else (certain calculations apply). A higher income will be allowed for Part V housing, each case will be assessed individually.
