Affordable Homes in Offaly
Affordable homes are provided by Offaly County Council to help people who want to buy a home in County Offaly, (see separate links for affordable housing in the towns of Birr and Tullamore) but cannot afford to buy on the open market. If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to the Council.
To Qualify for an Affordable Home
You should:
- be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply);
- be in full time employment for at least 6 months or self employed for at least 2 years; and
- have sufficient income to support mortgage repayments.
- have provisional loan approval from a bank/building society (BOI, EBS, Haven Mortgages, Ulster Bank) up to a minimum of €170,000
