Affordable Homes in Monaghan

Affordable homes are provided by Monaghan County  Council to help people who want to buy a home in County Monaghan  but cannot afford to buy on the open market.   If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to the Council.
 

To Qualify for an Affordable Home

You should:

• be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply)
• be in full time employment for at least 12 months or self employed for at least 2 years
• earn €40,000 as a single applicant and €100,000 combined income if you are applying with someone else.

Examples of Homes Provided Previously

Monaghan County Council has sold 96 homes to eligible families and individuals over the last 3 years.  Most recently 5 X 3 bedroom semi-detached homes have been sold in Newbliss for prices approximately 20% below the market price.
