Louth County Council
County Louth is divided into three Local Authority areas:
- Drogheda Borough Council (Drogheda Town only)
- Dundalk Town Council (Dundalk Town only)
- Louth County Council (County Area excluding the above)

Affordable Homes in County Louth
Affordable homes are provided by Louth County Council to help people who want to buy a home in County Louth with exception of the towns of Dundalk & Drogheda, but cannot afford to buy on the open market. If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to the Council.
To Qualify for an Affordable Home
you should:
- be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply)
- be in full time employment for at least 12 months or self employed for at least 2 years
- earn less than €40,000 as a single applicant or up to €100,000 as a combined income if you are applying with someone else (2.5 x principle earner plus 1 x 2nd earner)
