Affordable Homes in Leitrim

Affordable homes are provided by Leitrim County Council to help people who want to buy a home in Carrick-on-Shannon but cannot afford to buy on the open market.   If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to the Council.
 

To Qualify for an Affordable Home

You should:

• be a first time buyer (some exceptions apply, contact us to discuss)
• have enough income to meet your mortgage repayments after costs
• earn less than €40,000 as a single income household.  In the case of couples, the combined salary cannot exceed €100,000.  This is worked out by multiplying the main earner’s income by 2.5 and adding the subsidiary earner’s income.
