Applications for Affordable Housing can be made by completing and returning an Application Form which should be read in conjunction with the Affordable Housing Scheme  both of which are available on this website.

There are currently a number of very attractive one, two and three bedroom apartments available for sale, located in private developments throughout Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Council’s administrative area.

In the majority of cases mortgage finance will be made available to eligible applicants by private lending institutions. However, the Council also provide mortgages through its Home Purchase Loan and Shared Ownership Schemes.

To Qualify for an Affordable Home

 you should:

•  be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply); 
•  be in full time employment for at least 6 months or self employed for at least 2 years; and where the repayments on a retail mortgage to suit your “accommodation needs” would exceed 35% of your annual income (net of income tax and pay related social insurance).
