Affordable Homes in Donegal

Affordable homes are provided by Donegal County Council  Council to help people who want to buy a home in the Donegal Local Authority Area but cannot afford to buy on the open market.  

If you want to apply, check that you meet the criteria below, download the application form available on this page and return it to your Local Housing Office. (Address and contact details on the application form)
 

To Qualify for an Affordable Home

You should:

• be a first time buyer (certain exceptions apply)
• have enough income to make mortgage repayments

Examples of Homes Provided Previously 

Donegal County  Council has sold 30 homes to eligible families and individuals over the last 6 months.  Most recently three 3 bedroom semi-detached homes have been sold in River Wood  Estate in Moville for prices approximately 20% below the market price.
 

Average Waiting Time

The average waiting time to receive an offer is currently 3 months (depending on houses being available in your area of choice).
