To Qualify for an Affordable Home?

You may qualify for an affordable home, if you:

  •  Are a first-time buyer (but there are some exceptions, for example if you are divorced or have had to sell a property due to a relationship breakdown)
  • Have enough income to meet your mortgage repayments after you have paid all your other costs
  • As a guide, earn between €25,000 and €58,000 if you are applying on your own and up to €75,000 between both of you if you are applying with someone else.  These are the approximate limits only – lower and higher income limits may apply depending on the type of scheme.

How do I apply?

You must submit a full application form to South Cork, stating the areas where you would consider purchasing an affordable home. You will also be asked to submit loan approval, and an application fee of €50. You will then be considered for affordable housing in your preferred areas, along with other applicants who have expressed an interest in those areas.
